Field Education Office Hosts 50 for Appreciation Dinner In a spirit of festivity and celebration, the Office of Field Education held the annual Appreciation Dinner for pastoral field education supervisors at St. John’s on April 17, 2007. Faculty and seminarians expressed gratitude to the more than 50 guests from the 47 ministry sites throughout Los Angeles, Ventura and Orange counties where seminarians minister. |

The field education supervisors oversee the pastoral experiences of students preparing for priesthood and lay ministry in the Church. Some of the placements for field experiences include: parish ministry, detention sites, outreach centers for the poor, healthcare and convalescent centers, facilities for the disabled, schools and Catholic Charity Centers. Significant among these experiences is the year-long parish Internship for students preparing for priesthood.

Filed Education staff and seminarians expressed appreciation for the vital
contribution field supervisors make to the formation of candidates. The
evening’s entertainment reflected the multicultural spirit of St. John’s
Seminary.
