Support Our Seminarians
Above all else, our seminarians, other students, faculty and staff need the support of your prayer. As Jesus counseled: “Beg the harvest master to send out laborers to gather his harvest” (Matthew 9:37-38). We invite you to print out the prayer for priestly vocations found on this website and use it daily in your private prayer, with your family, in parish gatherings.
Assuring the best possible formation for priests requires significant resources. St. John’s Seminary stands on land generously donated by Juan E. Camarillo for the purpose of founding a major seminary. The Seminary was built during the Great Depression and is the fruit of the sacrifice of thousands of generous donations made during that time of severe economic hardship.
Today, tuition and fees alone are insufficient to defray the costs of priestly formation. We invite and urge you to follow in the footsteps of those founding donors and provide financial support by contributing to our seminary endowment fund. Your gift, large or small, enables St. John’s to maintain the highest quality of spiritual, human, intellectual and pastoral formation. Whether you are able to offer a one time special gift, or are able to make the seminary one of your regular charities, your generosity will bless not only our seminarians and students in their preparation for ministry, but the many people whom they will serve in the decades to come.
To make a donation to support the ministry of the seminary, please make your check out to “St. John’s Seminary Endowment” and mail it to the Office of the Rector, St. John’s Seminary, 5012 Seminary Road, Camarillo, CA 93012-2598.
There are additional needs for repairing and improving our facilities, supporting our program of retreats and spiritual formation, funding language immersion programs, developing the collection of our library, enhancing the seminary’s worship and liturgical music, among many others. Our new programs for lay pastoral ministers are also in need of resources. For further information about how you can support the ministry of the seminary, contact the office of the Rector at the address above or by phoning (805) 482-2755, ex. 1009.
We pray for all our donors and renew our request for the support of your prayers.
