Human Formation

[Seminarians at play]The Human Formation program offers a holistic approach to aiding the seminarian in his ongoing transition and conversion toward priestly ministry. This process includes developing a commitment to priesthood as a lifetime vocation, engaging in a collaborative style with sensitivity to diverse cultures, and demonstrating leadership that builds community and empowers others.

Each student is assigned a Formation Advisor. This relationship is meant to provide a helper in addressing areas of human growth, aptitude, and readiness for ministry. The FA is the student’s liaison with the faculty and primary supervisor of his annual review. The annual review includes input from the FA, the student himself, the Director of Students, the Director of Language and Cultural Studies, and other sources to offer a full and informative review.

The Human Formation  facilitates each student’s annual evaluation, which includes a faculty consultation to affirm areas of strength and suggest areas for growth, an annual review with the student and several faculty members, and the vote by the faculty for advancement in the program.
